To Sleep Or Not To Sleep

I spend twelve hours in my apartment everyday. Out of those twelve hours, I sleep for about eight. Of late, I have begun to hate sleeping. It feels as if I am wasting a huge amount of time on doing nothing. I fail to understand despite of living in such modern times, why haven’t the scientists figured out a way to avoid sleeping and still managing to refresh the mind and the body. Have you ever wondered about the design of time? Well, I have.

It exists as naturally as the constant vibration of the cosmos, and as artificially as the tick of the second hand of a wall clock. The passage of time reflects in everyday life as effortlessly as breathing. Time serves the same purpose to existence as oxygen serves to life on earth. None can survive without either. What do you write about when you are not able to think?

I suffered from this nothinkingness in the entire January of 2014. Now, when I am able to think about it, I realize that Januarys have always been hard on me in some way or the other. Last year too, January sucked big time for me. This time around, it didn’t suck as bad as last year, but it still made mess of my already messed up mind. Continue reading
